My Hero Academia: Vigilante, a spin-off of the famous manga series My Hero Academia is reportedly getting its own anime adaptation.
What Happens When The Heroes DON'T Make It in Time?
Written by Hideyuki Furuhashi, My Hero Academia: Vigilante, presents a completely different (and darker) perspective on the world of heroes that takes place when the Midoriya and the rest of Class 1-A are in elementary school. Compared to the main series written by Kohei Horikoshi, the vigilante series places more emphasis on everyday people and their struggle to conform to society's suppression of quirks (meta-human abilities)
Just like the heroes, the readers get more emotionally invested in the plot and attached to the characters for the rich slice-of-life moments Hideyuki illustrates within such a colorful and sometimes terrifying world. The plot centers on the lives and missions of unlicensed heroes operating beyond the law to protect their community from the rise of quirk-enhancement drugs in the streets.
Here's Why You Will Love My Hero Academia: Vigilante
My Hero Vigilantes travels back in time about 5-7 years before the main story arc showcasing the Heroes we know and love in their prime...or even in school. And not just the heroes, but we get to see the birth of some villains as well!
Big Names And What They're Up To:
All Might, Toshinori Yagi working with his agency before he was a teacher.
Shota Aizawa, hero: Eraserhead working as an underground Hero and his time at UA as a student.
Midnight, Nemuri Kayama working and her time at UA as a student.
Enji Todoroki, hero: Endeavor with a LOT more attitude and ferocity in his early agency days.
Ingenium, Tensei Ida leading his agency before his incident in My Hero Academia against Hero Killer Stain
Rumi Usagiyama before she became the rabbit hero: Mirko.
Naomasa Tsukauchi's rise in the police force.
Foreign heroes and many, many, more familiar characters!
The Main Cast (My Hero Variants...?)
Nice Guy/ The Crawler (Main Character)
"The concepts here were "Izuku Midoriya if he'd never met All Might" and "not yet a complete adult but no longer a boy." In the story, he's shown to have a kind and accepting nature that gives him a knack for communicating with troubled individuals who live in grayish zones, starting with his master and Pop Step..."
"...I think of this as his own special hero qualification. It's something most pro heroes and even Knuckleduster lack." --- Furuhashi
Knuckleduster
"The concepts at play here are "if All Might = Superman, then this guy is more like Batman" and "societal justice vs. personal justice." He's not actually a bad guy once you get to know him, but I never let myself forget that he's also fundamentally a weirdo." --- Furuhashi
Pop☆Step
"She tends to be harsh during her run-ins with Koichi, but I remember explaining during the one-shot submission that she's secretly the type to fawn over people, so even when she's giving Koichi or whoever a tongue-lashing, it should be clear from her expression that she's worried about them I'm such a pain in the butt." --- Furuhashi
